I would like to apologise for the constant re uploading of these three posts. For the last month and a half, I have been plagued by technical issues on WordPress; namely, the site was no longer there, 500 errors, and ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT, error.

This painting of Roman Bridge, Penmachno by Thomas Finchett has a wonderfully soft feel to it.
This may be because it has faded with time, but as with many Victorian paintings, the resulting softness has lots of appeal.
Often I have removed the original mount from a painting to find that in its original bright form, it would have been almost gaudy.
It is not often that time works in our favour!

Thank you very much indeed for liking the F*E* Taylor paintings. This artist clearly enjoyed making instant watercolours wherever he saw something which caught his or her eye. I am listing the Welsh ones at the moment but there are lots of English ones as well which I hope to list on my Unique England site soon. You never know, I may develop a following of football fans when I get some online!
At least now, I seem to have found a way to prepare my listings without too much grief.
It has been a case of learning what NOT to do rather than the opposite.
It is now just a matter of time and lots of it.
I have found that the wordpress Rowling theme which I use has changed slightly over nthe last few days.
After you click to ‘update’ a blog or to ‘save and publish’ a page like GALLERY in my case, the main page shows.
Then you need to click on ‘edit’ at the upper right of the page to continue editing.
I like to link the thumbnails in my GALLERY with the details for that painting in PAINTINGS DETAILS.
To do this now, I need to close all pages and re-open GALLERY before the linking system will work.
I hope this helps you and others.

These small but perfectly formed views were selected from a large quantity of work by William George Lewis. He sees different aspects in landscapes which I have known for much of my life.
The effect is very delecate and enchanting by comparison with the works of his daughter Eileen which I have seen.
The care with which he works is probably illustrated by the precise hand of his inscriptions.
I have taken the liberty in correcting some of the inaccuracies of names.
It is not easy to get Welsh names correct at the best os times.

Thank you very much for your continued interest in my paintings. I think I have now listed all of the William George Lewis paintings I have. There is a lovely delicate feel to them.
The Llanelltid (Lanelltyd) Bridge watercolour is another amateur painting of a view which can’t be seen today. There is a modern bridge alongside the old one. Also, there trees have been allowed to grow so a clear view down the Mawddach estuary is no longer available.
F*E* Taylor’s paintings cover a good part on North wales and again show unusual views. I m listing the Welsh works first, but I also have several paintings of southern England, particularly Buckinghamshire. He seemed to be fscinated by he gnarled shapes of the old beech trees in Burnham Beeches.
As for getting to grips with the WordPress system, it is still aking me by surprise sometimes, but things are considerably easier since EE sorted out my internet connection to prevent it from dropping avery few minutes. I am still of the opinion that they should confiscte all screwdrivers from the BT Open Reach engineers to stop them playing about with the network.

My goodness me, you are seeing my paintings almost before I list them!
Thank you so much for your interest.
I have been struugling to catch up today after yesterday’s visit to the International Eisteddfod at Llangollen with our visitor from Spain.
We were very embarrassed when a group of elderly ladies from Chester came onto the stage to perform their version of flamenco.
Sadly, it was not good, but our guest was polite enough not to comment.
So today has been something of a catch up but wordpress, great as it is, is still catching me by surprise sometimes, and I have no idea what I am doing to trigger the strange happenings.
I get very nervous. I would not like to lose everything I have listed on UniquePaintingsofWales so far. It was bad enough to lose just a few last time.

Sorry, I have not been ignoring you, merely sorting out an intermittent internet connection which has been causing me problems and delays for a month now.
That is all my F*E* Taypor paintings listed now – the Welsh ones that is.
I now have a few more intersting paintings by other artists to list and then I shall begin to list UniqueEngland paintings which I think I will need to do by county, but now I have a fibre connetion, it should all go a little faster.
